For release:
January 15, 2004 Stout's BackSaver Grip™ Eases Use of Rods and Nets Milwaukee, WI -- Stout’s BackSaver Grip™, a leverage-enhancing device for fishing rods and nets that has grown to almost cult-like popularity in Alaska, has now entered distribution in the lower 48. The patented ergonomic grip is available from Mercantile Buyers Service of Milwaukee, WI and is beginning to reach fishing and sporting goods retailers across the U.S. The BackSaver™ is a D-handle attachment that clamps
onto any heavy fishing rod, dip net or scoop net to add leverage and comfort
while reducing back and shoulder fatigue. "It's just one of those
simple inventions that really works," said creator Ron Stout. "The
grip is especially helpful for older fishermen, salt water anglers, bassers
and anyone who’s ever had a bad back." More tinkering and several design changes evolved into the current BackSaver. It sells to retailers in full-color 24-piece case displays with each unit individually packaged. BackSaver™ also improves the performance of shovels, snow shovels, rakes, push brooms, tree trimmers and numerous other long-handled tools. It provides a more comfortable way to grip a tool and allows the user to stand up straighter, using the legs instead of the back for lifting. It is available in select Home Depot and Ace Hardware stores or via the company’s website: www.backsavergrip.com.
